I believe abt. all of the Cash, Bibb, and Mays desc. have seen an intermarriage of at least 2 of these surnames in their family line. I am almost sure, if I am correct in my research of these three families, that I have all 3 of these families in my direct line. If I am incorrect, will someone please set me straight!
I'll start with:
Gen. #1 as:Robert Howard Cash, Sr. m. Ruth ?
Gen. #2. 1 Sarah Cash m. Joseph Mays and
2Benjamin Cash m. Nancy Savage
Gen. #3. Joshua Mays m. Sally W. Bibb 1810
I am a direct descendant of Joshua and Sally W. thru Elias Bibb Mays (my gr-gr-grandfather). He was 1 of 6 children born to them. I don't believe anyone knows of their existence yet. (I am still researching, and still dotting my i's and crossing my t's) So nothing has been published.
QUESTION: Would Joshua and Sally's familial relationship be as 2nd cousins??
He is a Mays and she is a Bibb, but they are both the grandchildren of Sarah Cash and Benjamin Cash--the gr-grandchildren of Robert Howard Cash, Sr. and Ruth.
