Hi Chris,
Sounds like you're pretty deeply into researching our common family name. Don't know how often you visit this board, but take a look at some info I posted several days ago, above. Re: Cash with the first name William...Nantucket 100 year whaling records list two ship captains named William Cash, one sailing in 1760 who died at sea, cutting the voyage short, and the second sailing in 1860. The second mentioned was the single most succesful whaling voyage in the 100 year history. After his return, he fought in the Civil War, which probably took him south. Have either of these two surfaced in your research? Although I have yet to verify it, our oral family history has always maintained that we were descended from Nantucket whalers, would be interested in any info you have.
