I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800. Note 1 - Without a KNOWN parish, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%. Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database. Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome). For Thomas Casey B 1843 (exact) somewhere in Ireland with the father forenamed James, I found 3 rcds: Westmeath and 2-Cork. For Honor(a) O'Connor B 1846 (exact) somewhere in Ireland with the father forenamed John, I found 4 rcds: Cork, Roscommon, and 2-Tipperary (we may be related). For James Casey B 1820 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 48 rcds - too many to list here. For Bridget Casey, you didn't have her maiden name, so I can't search. For John O'Connor (exact) M 1842 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland, I found 13 rcds: 1838 GAL, 1838 LIM*, 1841 LIM*, 1841 TIP*, 1842 TIP, 1844 LIM*, 2-1845 LIM*, 1845 CRK*, 3-1846 LIM*, & 1846 SLI. For Mary McCarthy M 1842 ditto, I found 322 rcds - too many to list here. The asterisked items for John indicate where there are POTENTIALLY matching marriage rcds. You will have to screen at the parish level to see if there are matches at that level of detail. If so, the rcds are likely those for these ancestors. Info found on the right M rcds will help you find the right B rcds below. For John O'Connor (exact) B 1825 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 7 rcds: 1826 LIM, 1827 LIM, 1827 SLI, 1828 ARM, 1828 LIM, 1828 TIP, & 1829 TIP. For Mary McCarthy B 1825 ditto, I found 162 B rcds. Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg. Hope this helps. Good luck. Notify Administrator about this message?
