Hi Bill,
It's been awhile since anyone has posted on the Casebolt forum so don't know if you will see this or not. Anyway, I believe you and I are cousins.
Robert C. Casebolt (my first cousin four times removed)married my 2nd great grandmother Sarah A. Davis. Their son, Robert D. Casebolt (my great grand uncle as well as my first cousin 5 times removed) married Emma or Emaline Elizabeth Green in Republic Co., KS. His mother Sarah had already married Stephen B. Stark (my 2nd great grandfather) by this time and they were living in Republic County, Kansas before moving to Emporia, Lyon Co., KS. Their son Robert William Casebolt remained single throughout his fairly short life. I am thinking you are descended from his sister Cora Lillian "Lil" Casebolt, who married Frank Strickland. I am assuming they are your parents? Cora would be my 1st cousin once removed on the Davis side but also a 1st cousin 6 times removed on the Casebolt side. You are my 1st cousin twice removed, as well as 1st cousin 7 times removed through the Casebolts. My Casebolt line begins with the children of Robert C. and Julia Ann Davis Casebolt. My relationship to Julia Ann Davis Casebolt goes all the way back in the Davis family! Are you confused yet, I sure am! Anyway, I did want to clear up your question about Robert D. Casebolt who married your grandmother. He most certainly was in Republic Co., KS after leaving Story Co., Iowa--His mother and three of his brothers were in my 3rd great grandfather Thomas C. Davis household in 1856 in Story Co., Iowa. Would love to hear from you. Please reply to this or email me. Thanks.
