As a follow-up to message #52 on this forum -- http://genforum.genealogy.com/casebolt/messages/52.html

My grandmother, Emmaline Elizabeth Green, was born in Oct 1871 in WI. She died on 18 Sep 1934 at Denver General Hospital, Denver, CO from chronic myocarditis and bronchitis, ending a three week illness. She was buried in Sep 1934 in Riverside Cemetery, Denver. Her sons were living in Denver at the time, and she had lost the place in Burden due to a sheriff's sale.

It looks like Emma married EITHER Robert Casebolt, son of Robert C Casebolt III and Sarah Amanda Davis. Robert was born on 14 Mar 1862 in IA.

OR, Emma married William Robert Casebolt, son of William J Casebolt and Harriet Mallory. William was born in 1874/1875 in MO / IA.

One of them died 13 Dec 1898 in Cowley County, KS, and was buried in Burden Cemetery, Burden, Cowley, KS.

Emmaline also married George Franklin "Gran'pa" Gray, son of Austin Gray and Sarah Elizabeth [Gray], in 1899. George was born about Nov 1855 in Washington, DC. He died on 29 Sep 1929 in Sheridan Twp, Cowley, KS. He was buried in Burden Cemetery, Burden, Cowley, KS.

Circumstantial evidence, such as where close family members resided, would lead me to believe the first one is the more likely probable choice, but I can't discount either one.

If anyone has any additional insight here, it would be appreciated.

Long wondered why my grandmother listed her 1895 birthplace as Saline County, KS, as there was no good reason for them to be there. Well, if this Robert, the first fellow above, is correct, her father's mother and sister weren't that far away in 1895 -- Elmerdaro, Lyons County, KS (no 1895 census for Saline County - politics)

And, the family of Robert b 1862's wife's second husband, Stephen B Stark, is a cousin to Robert's uncle, Cyrus D Casebolt's, second wife, Christiana Stark, and, remembering Emma Green, b 1871, WI, Christiana's family has ties to Wisconsin --

And Guy Haleria Casebolt, just east of Burden in Elk County, KS was Robert's first cousin, in this scenario.

Thank you,

Bill Strickland
