My 3rd ggrandfather was David L. Case b. 1794 in NY, died after 1860 (don't know where). He married Datey/Datie/Doty Mayo, b. 1794 in NY died 1881, Lake County, IN. Their children were: Elisha M. (1824-1904); Hiram A. (1824-1863)(Hiram died in Tenn. of typhoid fever while serving in the Civil War); Benjamin E. (1829-1918; Darias (1840-?).
The 1880 Census has Datey living with their son, "Bengeman" in Ross Twnshp, Lake County, IN.
In 2004, I was contacted by Lois Eckley who is related through Darias. I hope to find more members of the family and information about them.
