Thomas "Tootie" Case (b.c. 1769) and his two wives
Posted by: Howard Case (ID *****5502) Date: August 01, 2008 at 14:18:11

Thomas Case was born about 1769 in either SC or NC. He appears to have a wife named Stepp and a common-law wife that may be a Native American. The latter may have had the surname Tannehill from an earlier marriage.

Does anyone have any proof of the names of the children by each wife? I have found a number of stories, but no proofs.

Does anyone know when and where Thomas "Tootie" Case died? What about either wife? Thomas appears to have gone to GA, but the 1800 and 1810 census for GA were almost totally destroyed by the British during the War of 1812.

Some of his sons may have gone to Mississippi. Again, there seems to be no proof of which son was by which wife OR if these Case males were actually sons of Thomas Case.

Any help or clues would be appreciated.

Thanks
Howard Case
