In the 1850 St. Tammany Parish census, Martha b. 1843, George b. 1845 and Mary b. 1847 are listed as living with Letitia Shelton and her sons John b. 1832 and Josiah b. 1834. All of the children were listed with the last name Shelton. Letitia married Joseph Miley in 1831 and died before August 1834, when his will was probated in St. Tammany. In the 1870 Tangipahoa Parish census, Martha and Jacob are listed as living between John Miley and Letitia Zachary in Ward 2. Living with Letitia are Curtis b. 1852, Letty b. 1858 and Morgiana b. 1860. Josiah Miley (my ancestor) lived in Washington Parish with his family. Based on this information, I believe that Letitia remarried to a Zachary after Joseph Miley died. This information is all new to me, as I just recently found this information on Letitia Shelton and John Miley.
