Am interested in corresponding with any descendants of Martin Casada (also spelled his name Casaday and Cassaday). Martin is the son of Abraham Casada of Wayne County, Kentucky. He was born in 1786 in what is now E. Tennessee and moved to Jefferson County, Iowa in about 1838 and died in there in 1872. He also lived for sometime in Wayne County, Kentucky, McMinn County, Tennessee as well as for shorter periods on time in Ohio and Illinois. He supposedly had 18 children by his first wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Earls and 2 by his 3rd wife Martha Riddinger. The children mentioned in Martin's will are Rhoda, James E., Wiley, Rueben, Eliza, Jacob, John C., Mahala, William, Rufus, Adaline, (by his first wife) and Margaret and Samuel (by his third). I descend from his son Rueben who was born in Wayne County, Kentucky in 1816. Rueben later moved from Adams County, Illinois to Califonia in 1853.
