I do not have the "for sure" parents of Martha Cary but I do have information about her that might help us find her parents. She married William James, born May 2, 1704 in Charles Parish, York County, Virginia. She is mentioned in the will of her cousin, Mary Sclater, in 1737 in Charles Parish, York County, VA and William James signed as a witness to that will. There are a number of Cary family members mentioned in York County, Va during the time period when Martha would have married William James (Abt.1738-1739) since their son Cary James was born Feb 18, 1739/40 in Charles Parish, York County, VA.
Their two sons were born in York County before they moved to St. John Parish, King William County, VA. where I believe Martha died shortly after 1742 following the birth of a third son. When they sold their land in York County in 1742, she is mentioned in court records as being so sickly she could not travel back to York County to give her consent to the sale.
I have much more on the James family since I descend from William James. If you are still researching and would like to contact me, I may be able to help you with more information. I am writing a book about my line of the James Family.
