John,

The informaion I have on Thomas Cary III is that he was the son of Thomas Cary II and grandson of Miles Cary the immigrant. This according to the book by Fairfax Harrison, "The Virginia Cary's an essay in genealogy"

Fairfax did much research on this line and has many sources in his book, but nothing is documented to prove the children of Thomas Cary and Elizabeth Hinde. Fairfax speculates that They had at least two children: Thomas Cary IV, and James Cary.

Thomas Cary IV had seven children.

James Cary, AKA James Cary of Nottoway River is where my lineage comes from.

Regards; Jim Cary
