Robert Cary, merchant, of Hampstead, London circa 1750-?

Seeking Robert Cary (or Carey)and his parentage. It appears he had two daughters Amy and Lucy Elizabeth, who married two brothers respectively: Adam Askew, High Sheriff of Durham 1809 and Thomas Askew, Major in the New Romney Light Dragoons & Royal Scots Greys. Thomas and Lucy are my great, great grandparents.
See Pallot's Marriage Index for England 1780 - 1837:
"Adam Askew Esq - Amy Ann Cary - 1782 - ST. MARYLEBONE"
"Thos Askew Esq - Lucy Cary - 1796 - ST. MARYLEBONE"
& there is another entry for:
"Robt Cary - St Augstin London - Lucy Yorke (Lucy Susannah Yorke) - 35 - 1773 or 1779 - HAMPSTEAD"
This is likely the Robert Cary I am seeking information about.
Burke's Commoners of Great Britain and Ireland also has:
"Askew, of Redheugh – Lineage
Thomas, m. to Lucy, daughter of Robert Carey, esq. of London, merchant, and has issue, Thomas, John, Elizabeth, Lucy, and Georgiana."
And the International Genealogical Index/British Isles lists:
"LUCY ELIZABETH CARY - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Female Christening: 03 APR 1775 Saint John The Evangelist Friday Street, London
Father: ROBERT CARY
Mother: LUCY SUSANNAH"
If anyone has any information which might throw more light on these Cary's and their parentage, I would be most grateful.
Cheers Robin
