Bob, Thanks for your reply. I am really confused on this because according to the census there was a 57 year female as old head of household next door also by the name of Elizabeth Carver. Because Martha Hunter was 48 in her household, I deducted that the two could be sisters and Elizabeth may be named after the mother. Elizabeth Carver (57) had a son named Joseph who was 21 in the 1880 Census. Does this ring a bell with you? In the same household with the younger Elizabeth was a "child" Mollie Price who was 23, and a boarder, William B. Price who was 18.

And yet another puzzle. Somewhere online I have a census showing a LOGAN H. CARVER listed with an Elizabeth as his wife, but I am not certain this is the correct family either.

If you can figure this out, or have any clues, please let me know. Thank you.
