John Henry Carver and Talitha Mitchell were married in NC and lived in Ohio from apx 1802 until their deaths. Since John Henry was a Hessian his family name given to all boys was the "John" and Henry is what he went by on records etc. His father, according to one biography I read, was also "John Henry" who had moved from England to Holland or Poland to avoid the military. Then to Germany and when our John Henry was getting to military age, they came to NC to avoid it. However this doesn't jib with other statements that our John Henry was a Rev. War soldier and served throughout the whole war.
This would then make your birthdate of 1770 wrong for him. Most feel that a date around 1754 is more accurate. Please feel free to e-mail me for more info and discussion.
