Carver Family Genealogy Forum

Hi. Unfortunately, I can't help you very much with Cornelius as I am only just starting to research the Carver branch of the family. But I do think we may share the same James Carver (though there seem to be quite a lot of them in the general area at that time, so it's hard to be absolutely positive). My James Henry Carver (b. 1853-1857 in TN or KY, d. 1920-1930) was married twice (that I know of) and ended up having 12+ children (plus a step-daughter and a grandchild that he raised as his own). I don't know for certain the name of the first wife (with whom he had the first 1/3-1/2 of his children), but it seems the name Elizabeth pops up fairly often, so perhaps that's it. Most of my info ties into his second wife Louellen J. Marlow (b. 1968-1971in TN, d. aft. 1930). James and Louellen are my great-great-grandparents. They were married abt. 1894 and lived in both Dickson & Montgomery counties in TN.
I have definite matches for the family in the 1900 through the 1930 US census' and a probable match in 1890. My probable has James & his first wife Elizabeth living with his parents (Niel & Georgiann) and his siblings (Pete, Katie & John R.) in KY. Also, I see that Cornelus Carver (with his wife "An" & son John) is right next to my James in the 1900 census. At first glance, they seem to fit. Beside the census', I have a handful of birth/marriage/death certificates and a few obits. I'll be terribly excited if this this all matches to your line. Let me know if you'd like to share any further information.
