Thanks Ray & Freda for your responses. Also, for the benefit of the forum, I have some extra information.

I went to the Illinois State Historical Library in Springfield, Illinois and learned:

(1) The information I posted earlier from my wife's grandfather concerning Elijah Carver et al obviously had been taken from biographies appearing in "History of Cass County, Illinois", edited by William Henry Perrin (1882).

(2) According to "Old Cemeteries of Cass Co., Illinois" by Arthur Crumrin (1966), Elijah Carver, Sophia Haff Carver, and Frances B. Wyatt Carver (wife of Harrison Carver) are all buried at Garner Chapel Cemetery, which is about 3 miles north of the little Cass Co. Illinois town of Philadelphia. It's possible other relatives are buried there as well since the listing of inscriptions was only partial.
