My father served in WW2 with a Wilson A. Carver. He was a
Private, Co. K, 311th Infantry, 78th Division, U.S. Army Serial # 20756439
Entered the Service from Missouri
Killed in action in the Hurtgen Forest on December 15, 1944
Buried at: Plot A Row 14 Grave 38
Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Belgium
He was awarded the Purple Heart
Sounds like your husband's great uncle.
