Thursday, January l9, l922

SAMUEL F. DENT, son of SAMUEL and SARAH DENT was born in Owen County, Indiana, Aug. l3, l849, and departed this life at his home near Woodland, Iowa, January l5th, l922, being 72 years, 5 months and 2 days. At the age of 2 years he was brought to Monroe County, Iowa, by his parents. When l8 years of age he moved with his parents to Wayne County, Iowa, where he resided until the time of his marriage to MARTHA S. DEISHER, September 29th, l876, when he took up residence soon after on the farm near Woodland, Iowa, where he spent the remainder of his life. To this union was born one child, OLIVE E.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, and daughter, son-in-law, E.H. CARVER, 2 brothers, WILLIAM, of Corydon, Iowa; JAMES, of Philbrook, Minn. One sister, AMERICA ELSWICK, of Olympia, Washington, also one half brother, A.L. DENT, of Nebraska, and one step-brother, J.H. SCHOOLEY, of Humeston, Iowa. He numbered his friends by his acquaintances for he was loved by all who knew him. He was always interested in those things that were for the betterment of the community.

He had been in failing health for 2 years but his condition was not considered serious until about 4 weeks ago. All was done for him that could be done
but it was God's will that he should be taken.

Funeral services were conducted from his home Tuesday morning, Jan. l7 by Rev. O.S. Tallant and his body was laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lineville.

We wish to thank all our neighbors and friends who assisted us during the sickness and after the death of our loved one, SAMUEL F. DENT, also very grateful to all who contributed in any way to the floral display.
