Just came across your query on Gen Forum.
I too am researching these Carver's you mention they married into the Biddix/Hollifield famlies in McDowell/Buncombe County.
I have a William Carver married to a Jane Biddix. I have one of their sons as ADEN Carver.
I have a John CARVER (ca1839) married to a Rachel Hollifield.Children of this couple: Munrow, John Manson, David, Temperance,(Dorothy, married Cyrus Burnett),George.
