Kentucky Carver's Help!!!

My great grandpa, Isaac Carver, was born in Terre Haute Indiana in 1826. His father was Ishmael Carver married to Clarrisa Petch/Betch. Has anyone heard of Ishmael Carver or know anyone who could be Ishmael? He was born in Kentucky around 1806. He may have been disowned by his Carver family as no one has listed an Ishmael as son on any old wills I've read. Ishmael may be his middle name or he may have gone by both first and middle names. Ishmael was a southern sympathiser and came down south to aid in the war. He was in Vigo Co., in 1840. I found him in Missouri in 1850, and in Arkansas in 1860. He disapears after that census. He is said to have died, killed by union army troops. If anyone can help with this 3 year search that has produced nothing, please do! Thanks so much! Cheryl
