You might also try searching records in neighboring Erie County. CARVER is one of my surnames and any mention of CARVER catches my attention. While I have not found any connection between Dyer and my line, I have seen mention of Dyer CARVER in Erie County court records. One was in relation to some sort of custody proceedings and, if I remember correctly, Dyer's name may have been connected to my JAMES line also. I hope to try to track down the nature of the connection but it is one of my back-burner issues, especially as I live 500 miles away and do not get back as often as I would like to. Should you be able to get to Sandusky, try the genealogical section of the Library. The library is across the street from the court house. Very convenient.
