Zalmon/Zolman Carver b. ca. 1790-1800, possibly in PA., (according to our family Bible.) Married Achsah Smith (b. NY) ca. pre-1828, daughter of Ebenezer Smith, Rev War Vet, b. Egremont/Sheffield, Berk. Ma.,1751. died 1825 and buried in Auburn, MI. Eben. had at least one son born in Pa, ca, 1770-1780, and the rest of his children (8 in all) born in Cayuga Co, NY, before his removal to Mich. in 1820's Mrs. Achsah Carver and her brother Capt. Isaac Lindsley Smith, were witnesses to the 1846 marriage in Mich. of Achsah's daughter Mary Ann Carver(b. 1828) to Benjamin Parker, (b. Eng.)Oakland County Marriage Returns. I have seen a census record for Axcy Carver in Mich but do not know if this could be our Achsah. Have not found Zalmon/Zolman Carver on any census, anywhere, any year. I have found Selmon/Salmon in Mich. census records. Our Bible says "Zalna" Carver, b. PA; the History of Oakland County says; "Zolman Carver" who married a daughter of Ebenezer Smith, owned the first store in Auburn Michigan. (Ebenezer and his family owned almost all the businesses there.) I have found Zolman as a surname, so speculate a Carver/Zolmon marriage somewhere. Or else, this name is a derivation of Solomon. Any help with this family would be dearly appreciated as my cousins have worked on this info for over 20 years, and I'm posting here so that others can see what info I have. Did I tell you how impressed I am with your info? If you find any connection to my info, I would love my family to be included in that impressive family tree. What an accomplishment! Kathy Abbey
