I don't think Switzerland Cy, Indiana and Vigo Cy Indiana are that near but Cheryl said at one point that the Carvers may have been involved in some kind of riverboat work (BArges to carry supplies and produce and the like as opposed to steam ships) and Vigo is on the Wabash River. I think different brothers settled different places. Three brothers, Ishmael, Thomas and Pleasant were settled in Vigo ca 1836-1849 but a fourth, Jesse was elswhere and it might have been Switzerland County. I would be interested to hear what you have.
