Sorry for delay. Tom that married Sara Halland, is son of Robert & Margaret White Carother, Robert son of Hugh & Sara Pruvaince Carruthers. Thomas that married Elizabeth, has me a little lost at the moment. I'm short on time at the moment ,close to work time.
We have now learned that Robert's brother James was married twice , although we have not found a Thomas in any of his found records, we suspect there was, during the time in NC we connect to another Thomas Carruthers, who's percentage we as a collective family have not been able to prove. As it stands right now, I do see the two Thomas's as 1st cousins, reason . Hugh & Sara had 4 son's , Rob,John,Hugh Jr, & James. Robert settled in Sumner in 1800, this 10 years after Rob's true 1st cousin Robert settled in Williamson Co, Rob of Williamson Co, remained tightly connected to Rob of Sumner's brother James of Jessamine Co,KY. James is connected to another Thomas Carruthers, who's relationship we have not found as of yet.
It is known that Thomas N. Caruthers and wife Ann Stewart resided in Sumner for a short period before moving to Mcnairy Co, This Thomas is cousin but not 1st cousins, his father Andrew is 1st cousin to both Robert's.
And we know Robert 1715's offspring moved thru Sumner, but so far we do not have the childern born earlier in the marriage, Robert 1715 is the Uncle of the two Robert's, eldest brother, of William,James, Hugh and John.
Due that Robert 1715's wife is Maragert Gillespie, and being member of my Gillespie line, I and my cousin's suspect the reinterduction of the name Thomas being used by Robert & Marg. Rob & Marg being the parents of the Robert whom this quari is headed under.
The problem now is We have record of another Thomas Carruthers line directly connected to our lines. This line I'm still working on .
