Rosemary, My husband's gggrandmother was a Elizabeth Carruthers, born 1769, SC or GA, d. Aug 1837 in Greensboro, Greene, AL. She was married to Solomon McAlpin abt. 1790, probably in GA or SC. We can't find any marriage but her name is carried down through the family including my father-in-law, Oliver Carruthers "Cary" McAlpine. I have been trying to place her for awhile. Have any of you Carruthers or researchers out there heard of her and who she belongs to? Thanks.
