I am just beginning a search for Caruthers. Your note caught my eye as I am related but do not have all the information (late start much has disappeared) to the Caruthers of Sumpter and Marion counties in Florida. I used to attend Caruthers family reunions at the Dade Battlefield Memorial in Bushnell, FL. I am a direct descendent of a William Samuel Caruthers that live in the Hilsboro county FL area.

There is another group of Florida Caruthers that are "unrelated" in the same general area.

I would be very interested in discovering more data on the Samuel Caruthers of VA if the data I am being forwarded by an Uncle proves to match. It it does, I can provide a small amount of data on the later Caruthers in FL.
