I am trying to tie my g-g grandfather to his parents. He was bt. as Jean (John) Caruthers in the Lafayette,La. area in 1827 @9yrs old.
The record only gives his mother Sarah, no last name. I think that the family is from N.C. I only have access to Fr.Hebert's SW La. books.
