My father's name is Thomas Franklin Carty, who had approximately 8 brothers and sisters. While I can't recall all of their names, the ones I do are Harold, Bill, Alice, Raymond, Edith, Chester. I believe my paternal gradnfather's name was James Monroe Carty, who was a farmer in Independence Mo, and passed away with a heart attack. His wife, passed away in 1972 or 73 as I recall. My understanding was that she was American Indian, but no one is sure what tribe. There was also two young daughters who died in a fire when very young my father says, but does not recall their names now. I think Harold went to Utah or Wyoming, but unsure.
