James Cartmill in Montgomery Co, VA 1782

Who is the James Cartmill in Montgomery Co, VA personal propert tax list of 1782?

Is he the son of Henry Cartmill who lived on Purgatory Creek in Botetourt Co, and who died there in 1786. In Henry's will of 1786 he names sons John, James and Henry, as well as several sons-in-law. In 1777 Henry, Sr, Henry, Jr, James and John are all in the personal property tax lists of Botetourt in the area between the James River and Bufallo Creek. This area included Purgatory Creek. In 1778 the northern part of this area became part of Rockbridge Co, VA. However, the area where the Cartmill's lived remained in Botetourt.

When Henry wrote his will in 1786 he left money to his son James, and he left land to his sons John and Henry, Jr "my youngest son". He also named John and Henry, Jr as his executors. Is this son James Cartmill the same person who is in Montgomery Co? If he is, did he have a son named Henry who later was in Cabell Co, VA (WV)?
