We may be related because Hiram Cartmill married to Mary Ann Wallace had son, Willie, daughter Sally and Susan. Hiram's father was James Madison ("Matt") Cartmill born around 1811 - 1816. He first married Matilda Compton and they had a daughter, name unknown born abt. 1839. 2. Layne Cartmill, born 1842 who married Elizabeth Franklin. My line comes through this Layne Cartmill. (His son was James Cartmell born 1874 and my father, James Cartmell born 1915 - all from Lawrence County). After Layne was born, next was Iona born 1846. Next was William Cartmill born 4 Dec. 1849 in Lawrence Co. and married 2 Mar. 1872 to Suzannah Cox.
James Madison ("Matt") wife, Matilda died and he then married a lady named Orpha(?). Matt and Orpha's children were:
1. Hiram P. born 1852 who married Mary Ann Wallace 20 Jun 1874.
2. Thomas, born 24 Mar. 1855 married Cynthia Alice Kinner 1887.
3. Mary A., born 22 March 1859.
4. Missouri Bell, born Mar. 1860 and died 10 Oct. 1860.
