Hello Drew, Glad to hear from you. James was my father not my grandfather and want to be sure this is clear to you. I keep in touch by Email regularly with the folks "on the hill" in Divernagh- Sylvia - cousin John's widow. I presume you know her.
Yes, I found it just about impossible to determine who was who among Cartmills( or Stevensons-my mother's maiden name from Derrylileagh) when attempting to get some background for my autobiography. I finally gave up and spent the time writing it rather than worrying about details in either family. I did receive some good information from a lady who lives somewhere in your area who sent me a family tree for several generations. This was based on info from the Kingsmill parish records. Other than this, I have been unable to go back very far. If, in your research, you find anything of interest, or photos, etc., sending them along by Email would be greatly appreciated. I spend the summer of 1927 in Ireland and at that time visited uncle John who lived in the family homestead. Have had three additional visits over the years.

Regret we did not know who you were during our visits to the Emerald Isle. At our ages, it is unlikely we will have an opportunity to return.

Best regards, Norm Cartmill, Hyannis, MA USA
