Phil: James Robert Cartmell 1870-1950 is my wife's grandfather. He, and his wife, Marion A. Oldfield 1873-1945, had five children: i - Gladys Kirkby Cartmell 1895-1951; ii - Marjorie Daunes Cartmell 1899-1992; iii - Edith Carlisle Cartmell 1902-1979; iv - Dorothy Lucy "Chubb" Cartmell 1903-1990; v - Robinson James Cartmell 1906-1983.
Robinson James Cartmell married Eleanor Gertrude Foote 1910-2007 and they had three children: i - James Robert Cartmell 1931-living; ii - Jane Cartmell 1932-living; iii -Kate Cartmell 1940-living. Kate married Douglas Warnock Campbell 1929-living. I have traced the Cartmell family back to Isaac Cartmell 1720- who married Agnes Barrow 1702-1786. Regards, Doug Campbell (Dataw Island, SC)
