I was looking through old postings in the Cartmell listings, and ran across your posting about Benjamin Smith.
You may already have this info. but this what I know from researching my Chester line through Thomas Chester/Sarah Cartmell.
Benjamin Smith shows up in the 1790 North Carolina sensus as living in Rowan county NC> and again in the 1800 sensus living in Burke county. It seem odd that he would be living in the same areas as my ancesters were, Thomas chester and David, as he was married to their sister.
