I have three lines of descent from the Carterets of Jersey, Channel Islands. 1. From Susan, daughter of Sir Philip de Carteret (d. 1595) and Rachel Paulet. 2. From Anne. daughter of Elias de Carteret (d. 1640) and Elizabeth Dumaresq (and sister of Sir George Carteret, 1st baronet and proprietor of New Jersey). 3. From Frances, daughter of Francis de Carteret ( d. 1693) and Anne Seale. There are so many intermarriages between the Carteret and Dumaresq families that it is a challenge to keep them straight; also many marriages between Carteret cousins. I have accumulated several books and articles about Jersey families, and would be happy to share. My most recent connection is through my great (4 times) grandmother, Anne Dumaresq, wife of William Turner (5) of Boston (1745-1792), (Ephraim 4, Thomas 3, Thomas 2, Humphrey 1, Turner.)
Susanna
