Is the John Carter that you list here as the son of Capt. Thomas Carter and Katherine Dale the only that marries a Miss Chew and a Miss Armistead? Or is he the one that married the widow of John Hubbard of Amelia County, Virginia?
In 1745, John Hubbard left his will in Amelia County (WB 1/34). He had been married to Sarah Stone. Both were originally from Caroline Co., VA. A George Carter was appointed guardian to three of Hubbard's children in Amelia. Sarah Stone Hubbard then married John Carter (assumed to be George's brother) of Caroline County, where they lived. John Carter dies in 1750. Upon the death of her second husband John Carter, Sarah applied for administration of his estate. On the motion of Sarah Carter it is ordered that she have administration of the estate of her late husband, John Carter, deceased, who with William Underwood and Thomas Schooler her securities acknowledged bond for the same. Court 9 Nov 1750.
Who is THIS John Carter, second husband of Sarah Stone Hubbard?
