I am looking for these Carters...said to be Nathaniel's descendants....and branches of his tree
My great-great aunt writes...
ROBERT A CARTER went north to further his education.....
I just recently received the land grant of ROBERT A CARTER'S estate in Austin, Texas. This grant was given to him in 1854. ROBERT A CARTER never married. He was a very young man when he went to Austin where he passed away. About 1891, the report came from his administrator who was Lawyer Golf telling his brother Nathaniel Carter II that brother Robert had requested that his estate and money be given to the relatives in Fauquier County at Ada, Virginia. However, due to the fact that his brother at that time was owner of a vast acreage of land plus a large store and being so steadily employed caring for his own possessions, neglected the inheritance of his brother in Austin and finally became ill himself and passed away; therefore several other families went and had their family name changed to Carter and sent several letters to Lawyer Golf in Austin trying to come into the inheritance, but they didn't succeed............The sons of Nathaniel Carter and some of the family tree settled in Tennessee and later to Missouri.....FRANKLIN CARTER and AUTHUR CARTER made their home in southwest part of Virginia.
.........ALEC CARTER a 3rd cousin of my father (William Henry Carter) own a large farm just outside of Warrenton, Virginia.
If any one has any info on Robert A, Franklin, Authur and Alec Carter...I would greatly appreciate your sharing.
Thanks
Patty
