My real point was that Thomas Carter, Jr. was very diligent in insuring that all of his children were provided with a land holding and that in not giving land to his daughters Mary and Judith he must have been satisfied that they were provided for by their husbands. Further, if it proves correct that Judith and her husband Charles took up residence with Mary and her husband Thomas Dawson in 1763 and were there in 1766 then it strengthens the argument that Judith and Mary were sisters. There also seems to be a complete lack of evidence that the Judith Carter married to Charles Carter in 1756 was the daughter of Edward Carter who died in 1749.
