It is said that he married 5 times. John Henry Terrell m. Rebecca Terry is my 2C2R. We'll have to find why I have Rebecca Terry and you have Melinda Terry. I havent' any information about Rebecca other than her event dates. If the John Terrell you ask about is the John, father of the Wilburn Terrell b. 1843 and grandfather of my 2C2R John Henry Terrell, he had one full sister and several half brothers and sisters as his father, William, was married five times. This John's parents were William and William's second wife, Anna King. One of his half brothers was the Wilburn Terrell b. 1823 named in your FGS and as follows below. This John Terrell married (1) Mary Ann Hoard [Hord] (my GGG Aunt) and (2) Mary Elliott. He died in 1905. William Terrell 2 Jun 1795 - 1 Jul 1845 married (1) Maggie Mitchan. No known issue. (2) Anna King. Son John 1815-1818-1905 and daughter Mary 1818-1863. (3) Elizabeth White. Twin sons Wilburn 13 Aug 1823 - 12 May 1897 and Henry Martin 13 Aug 1823 - bef 1880. (4) Nancy Batman. Daughters Mary 1828 -1863 and Malinda b. abt 1834. (5) Charity Johnson. Daughter Marinda 1829 - 1875. The Wilburn Terrell in your FGS b. 1823, s/o William Terrell and his third wife, Elizabeth White, was married three times. Jessie, Sarah and Eva are the daughters of Wilburn's third marriage as I have it, that is, their mother was Martha Williams. He married (1) Sarah Hoard (also my GGG Aunt) (2) Rachel Fletcher and (3) Martha Williams. There was issue in each marriage. The children of the marriage of Wilburn Terrell and Rachel Fletcher were William H. Terrell and Rachel Jane Terrell, the latter of whom, as an infant, lived with her grandparents James and Malinda Pridemore Fletcher, however, there is a conflict in ages reported for Rebecca in 1860 (2) and in 1870 (5) while in the household of James and Malinda Fletcher. Yet, Rebecca Terrell m. Robert Blair on 11 Mar 1875 so the age appearing as 5 in the 1870 census probably was actually 12. Sid Fisher [email protected] Name: Sid Email: [email protected] Patricia, the information concerning William Terrell and his five marriages and the issue thereof cited in my message below is as found in the DAR application of Jewel Pridemore. There are some issues to be resolved, ie, Jewel found that Henry Martin Terrell b. 13 Aug 1823 (rather than Henry Washington Terrell b. 20 Jun 1823) married Rachel Johnson. The only indication that Henry Martin Terrell b. 1823 ever existed is Jewel's DAR application. Also, John, son of William and Anna King Terrell, said in 1900 that he had been born in NC in May 1815 which conflicts with Jewel's information of birth in 1818 as twin to Mary.
