I am trying to research the family of Jesse Carter, Sr. and Sarah/Sallie W. Carter of Virginia. In the 1850 and 1860 census they are located in the Northern District of Pittsylvania County, Sandy River Post Office with their children, Winiford H., Christopher, Ann R., Judith Elizabeth, and Sarah Jane (my husband's great grandmother). Our Sarah/Sallie/Jennie married James R. Anderson 1/21/1867.

I believe Jesse's dob. around 1795, and Sarah's around 1803. There are so many Jesses and Sarahs! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
