I am descended from Eliza Charlotte Carter 1844-1923, one of possibly three daughters of William James Carter and his wife Elizabeth Shattock. The other two girls may have been Sarah (a dressmaker in Shoreditch) and Susan who married Robert Marshall.
In 1865 William was a goldpin maker living at Mary Street, Bethnal Green. He was married to Elizabeth 7 Apr 1836 at St Thomas Church, Southwark, Surrey.
And he was probably born 19 Dec 1811 in Southwark to Aaron Carter and his wife Frances.
Does anyone have a connection to this Carter family?
