This in an article I found in my G-grandmother's newspaper clipping scrapbook. None of the articles are dated, but many contain dates of births, etc. Most are from the Lapeer county paper, and date from the early 1900-1920s. DEATH OF SANFORD CARTER Sanford Carter of 46 Turrill Avenue died Tuesday afternoon at the Lapeer City Hospital, where he had been a patient for a little over a week. He had undergone an operation for appendicitis and this was followed by pneumonia. Mr. Carter was born in Attica, December 21, 1903, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Carter. His mother died when he was eight days old and he was brought up by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dana Carter, until the death of his grandmother, when he came to Lapeer to lilve with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Eastman. Mrs. Eastman was his aunt. On October 15, 1921, he married Miss Fern Everdon. They lived in Lansing three years, returning to Lapeer in March, 1925, where he was employed as a molder in the Bostick Stove works. Surviving are his wife; his father, Will Carter of Flint; a brother, Leon, and a sister, Mrs. Claude Scramlin of Lapeer. He was a member of the M. P. church and the I.O.O.F. The body was taken to the Baird Funeral Home on Tuesday and to Mr. Carter's home the following day. Funeral services will be held at the M. P. church Friday at 2:30 p.m., with Rev.
