do you have the deed/patent cite for the land that is referenced? I (and several other descendants) have been trying to locate the parents of a James Thomas Carter who married Martha McCann...They had a son James Thomas Carter (Jr) who was born in 1843 and lived in Halifax County. Could this be our James?
