Hi Sharon, we're back to the mess in Amherst.I've looked, but can not find, the will of Mary Ann - does she name her children?Need real proof of the children of Abraham and Mary Ann for a new found Carter cousin.
When was her will written?(Abraham died 1843 - she survived 'till 1855)Is she passing on some Dower Rights?
Yes, her will is curious - obviously of some holdings of her own, and compounded by the obersvation that one John Taliaferro was the bondsman for her marriage.Charles Taliaferro, son of Richard of Caroline County who held the original 10,000 acre Patent (via King Carter), was the first settler of the area.
What was the connection between the Roberts and Taliaferro?
