October 16,1815 - Greene County Deed book 11, page 11
Absalom & Susannah Templeton to Joseph Carter, all of Greene County and State of Tennessee. Fifty dollars paid for a tract of land in Greene County on Lick Creek. Quit Claim to him the said Joseph Carter, our part as heirs of a certain tract of land granted to Levi Carter deceased. Which tract our part as Legatees after the death of our mother Susannah Carter.
