David, keep in mind with all the deeds, that there grouped by first name. Also that it doesn't mean that their all the same person. Where there was a middle initial, I used it. The same goes for Senior and Junior and sometimes when the Sr. died, the Jr. became the Sr. Also, Sr. and Jr. doesn't always mean father and son. The John Carter in Smith County that your refering to, I can't help you with him. The Enoch Carter that married Susannah Wilkenson in Greene County, I have seen before and I was wondering if you know if Enoch had any brothers or sisters. There was an Enoch Carter here in Greene County in 1798. Nothing can be found after that, so it could be the same one. I remember seeing something about an Enoch Carter getting killed in a farming accident. Happy Hunting !!! Wayne
