Both of the County of Greene and State of North Carolina. On the north side of Nolachucky River. Witness: Benjamin Goodin & James Goodin. Both of the County of Greene and State of North Carolina. Appertaining as by Patent bearing date September 11,1787. Witness: Benjamin Goodin & Peter King. Feburary 23,1795 Greene County Deeds book 4, page 406 John Carter to John Mallone, 100 pounds paid for 250 acres of land on the Dry Fork of Lick Creek. Both of the County of Greene and Territory of the United States south of the river Ohio. Beginning at a conditional line of said Carter and Abraham Carter, a conditional line of said Carter and George Waggoner, a conditional line between said Carter and Benjamin Carter. Belonging as by Patent bearing date Sept. 20,1787. Witness: Zackeriah Casteel & Abraham Carter. Registered the 2nd day of May 1800. May 5,1789 Greene County Deeds book 4, page 462 John Carter to Alexander Goodin, both of the County of Greene and State of North Carolina. 100 pounds paid for 100 acres of land on the Roaring Fork of Lick Creek. June 3,1808 Greene County Deeds book 8, page 220 Benjamin Gest to John Carter Senr. Benjamin Gest of the County of Jackson and State of Tennessee, one part and John Carter of the County of Greene and State aforesaid the other part. 200 pounds paid for 159 acres of land on the waters of Lick Creek in Greene County. Survey granted to Benjamin Gest of No.102, a line of a 400 acre tract. Signed: Benjamin Gest Senr. Witness: James Carter, Benjamin Gest & Daniel Carter Registered the 22nd day of August 1808. August 19,1813 Greene County Deeds book 10, page 115 Daniel Carter to John Carter, both of Greene County and State of Tennessee. I Daniel Carter, a son to and one of the Heirs of John Carter deceased. For a sum of Sixty dollars paid, I Quit Claim unto John Carter Senr. a tract of land on the waters of the Roaring Fork of Lick Creek. It being a tract said John Carter deceased, died in possession of, of which I Daniel Carter as one of the Heirs had claim. Witness: Ellis Carter & Cate Jones Registered the 8th day of July 1814 Jan. 27,1813 Greene County Deeds book 10, page 227 James Carter of the County of Jackson and State of Tennessee to John Carter of the County of Greene and State of Tennessee. James Carter, a son to and one of the Heirs of John Carter deceased late of the County of Greene and State of Tennessee, The sum of Fifty dollars paid for a tract of land on the waters of the Roaring Fork of Lick Creek.
