Anton Frederick Carstensen, b. c. 1845 Denmark (family history) was married to Clara Bender (or Bennett) in 1869 in San Francisco, CA. They had six children: Frederick, Charles, William, Peter (my GF), Catherine, Clara. Catherine m. Robert McDade, and they had a daughter, Katie about 1905. Clara, Catherine and William were all dead by 1907. Sons Charles and Frederick changed their surnames to Carson. (one of many they used throughout their lifetimes). Anton Frederick gave conflicting information on Census forms, including variations on his name and occupation, birthdate etc. I can account for all the family except son Frederick. Anton died in 1915. His wife Clara preceded him in death in 1898.
