CARSTAIRS _ Margaret, Hodgert (Geddes). Margaret passed into the presence of the Lord on March 6, 2005 in the company of family at Delta Hospital. Margaret was born, August 16th, 1910 in Nanaimo, BC and was predeceased by her devoted husband James Carstairs. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Grace Rankin (Jack), Barbara Wright (Gordon); and her son, James Carstairs (Barbara); as well as by her 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild! James and Margaret were married for 67 years and raised their family along the B.C. coast. They settled in Delta in 1952 and farmed there for many years. They enjoyed 30 years of retirement, traveling to visit family in California and Prince George as well as many friends along the way. Margaret had a wonderful sense of humour and never missed an opportunity to tell her family how much she loved them. She enjoyed painting and brought an artistic flair to her everyday life. Margaret has left an imprint on each family member that will be forever cherished. Many thanks to the staff at Kinsmen Retirement Centre and Delta Extended Care Unit who comforted and cared for her. A celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Sunday, March 20th at 3:00 PM at South Delta Baptist Church, 1988 56th Street, Tsawwassen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Delta Hospital.
