Wow, I love serendipity like that! That is very interesting. Ann Linville was my GGGG Uncle John's granddaughter. Ann's brother John and her father William were both killed by Cherokee Indians in the woods near Linville, North Carolina (Linville Gorge area) in 1766. My father has an extensive Linville family tree; my GGGGG Grandfather Richard Linville (Ann's great grandfather) was born in Fletching, Sussex, in 1654 (their home is still standing today).

The info regarding Ann's granddaughters marrying Kit's half brother is new...and very fascinating. Just concluded a complicated conversation with my dad about this...my brain is swimming...this genealogy get confusing!
