Your lineage is interesting to me. Most of the descendants of Kits grandfather, William (ca1720-1776) migrated to NC, then KY & MO. It is nearly impossible that you are desc. from one of Kit's brothers as their descendants are pretty well documented and none are found in OH during their lifetimes. However, in reviewing the Carson Bent Boggs Genealogies by McClung, I found a reference to Kit's uncle Robert Carson (1758/9-1810)that I had previously overlooked. There is a DAR record (156715) which records a Robert Carson 1762-1837 who was married to a Margaret. This differs from other records showing he was married to Jane Robinson McMullin sister of Kits mother Rebecca Robinson. McClung also references a bible record "which appeared to belong to our Robert of NC" (Kit's Uncle) stating that he married a Margaret Bates. McClung surmises that Robert may have been married to Margaret Bates prior to his marriage to Jane Robison McMullin (certainly she was married previously). There is another possibility in that there is a 1758 will for a William Carson (Not Kit's grandfather but probably his Cousin) which mentions his "cuzin" William Carson as well as a Samuel Carson and a brother Robert Carson. Regardless it may well be that the Robert Carson who married Margaret Bates was either Kit's uncle or the cousin of Kit's grandfather William.
I provide this information because it is documented that the Robert Carson who married Margaret Bates migrated from PA to OH. He is mentioned in Crawfrod County, OH, Jefferson County, OH, Harrison County, OH, and Seneca County, OH. They are known to have a son Samuel Carson (1789-1867) who was a soldier in the War of 1812 and married an Elizabeth Willoughby. Their children are listed as Jackson, Ann (Corey), Harrison, George, Sarah (Tucker), Hannah (Corey) Elizabeth (French & Linensberger), Samuel, and Tarlington B. Unfortunately there is no mention of a Henry Carson but the descendants of this line have longed believed a connection to Kit and there may be other children or grandchildren not included in the records of this less documented line. Sorry I could not have been more help but if you feel I can provide any further assistance please let me know. By the way I cannot help but mention that Daniel Boone's brother George Boone 1739-1764 was married to an Ann Linville. Their son William Linville Boone had two daughters, Mildred (Milly) and Cassandra who were married to Kit Carson's eldest 1/2 brother William 1786-1853. Interesting. Doug
